Rachel Renee Russell, born on 13th March, 1959 in Michigan, is an American author of the #1 New York Times bestselling humorous children's book serires, Dork Diaries.  She currently resides in northern Virginia. Interestingly, she wrote her first book in 6th grade as a birthday present for her twin brothers.
