Marcus Sedgwick was born and raised in East Kent, England. Alongside a 16-year career in publishing, he established himself as a widely-admired writer of young adult fiction and has become well-known for the dark themes in his fantasy books. His work has been shortlisted for over thirty other awards, including the Carnegie Medal, the Edgar Allan Poe Award and the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize. In 2011, Revolver was awarded a Printz Honor.
